Sugar-free baking, desserts and other sweet edibles
I no longer make the dessert recipes and cake recipes on this website, or at least not in their current form with sugar, honey or golden syrup in them. In fact hubby and I rarely eat sugar at all these days. Like David Gillespie says "Sugar is sweet poison". I still have a sweet tooth though so I've been manipulating and tweaking traditional recipes to remove the nasty sugars and to re-invent them in a fructose-free form. I mainly use rice syrup and sometimes dextrose to sweeten food where needed. Even though these recipes are healthy you still shouldn't over indulge in them.
It takes a lot of trial and error to convert recipes to be fructose-free. Take the traditional sugars out of biscuits and replace them with dextrose and you likely end up with inedible "food". Not all sugars are equal. Replacing traditional sugar with dextrose means the liquid volume of the recipe has to be adjusted. The oven temperature has to be decreased too. There are lots of variables.

Apple And Cinnamon Muffins
Recipe using dextrose and skimmed milk.
This recipe uses dried apples or apricots, dates and seeds.
Chocolate Bliss Balls
Full of fibre and so yummy.
This recipe has no added sugar at all. The dates provide the sweetness.
Dairy-free Chocolate Mousse
So healthy and easy to make in a food processor.
Dextrose is used in this muffin recipe. Fruit can be changed as required.
