Many coleslaws have onion in them and I feel children are turned off by the raw onion taste. My children love this fruity coleslaw and have done so since they were toddlers. And there is not a hint of onion it it. Red cabbage could be an alternative to the usual green cabbage.

Approximately 500 gm cabbage, very finely grated
2 carrots grated
1 red apple, finely chopped
Sufficient mayonnaise to hold it all together.



If possible try to use an electric shredder/grater to grate the cabbage as it is preferable to have it quite finely grated - especially if you want children to eat it.

Combine the cabbage carrot, apple and mayonnaise.

Serves 6 - 8 (in my family it only serves 4 as my teenagers devour it like crazy)



Mayonnaise is not healthy. Consequently you should use the minimum amount necessary to bind your coleslaw together.
