Australia's rainfall is the lowest of all the continents in the world excepting Antarctica. Despite this, Australia has one of the highest per capita water consumption rates in the world. Two thirds of all the people on Earth use less than 60 litres of water a day yet the average Australian uses more than twice that amount during a single shower.

A dripping tap can waste thousands of litres of water per year and often it is only a washer that needs replacing.
