Make your own laundry powder with non-toxic ingredients

Make your own laundry powder

Laundry detergents contain myriad chemicals including phosphorous and ammonia. Those two plus some of the others are capable of causing sinus problems, rashes, and allergies. These are a few of the acute problems that manifest fairly quickly but what about the long term effects that we won't know about for 20 or 30 years or so?

Chemicals from laundry detergents surround us 24-7. Even when clothes are rinsed, the toxic residues stay in our clothes and in our bed linen. We are simply absorbing them on a daily 24-hour basis.

Read here how you can make your own laundry powder that won't make you sick and as an added bonus, it won't harm the environment either. Please note there are no bleaching agents in this home made product so your white clothes may not stay as white as you are accustomed to. Maybe get used to wearing cream colours in lieu of white.

Did you know:

Phosphates from laundry detergents and other cleaning products are one of the biggest pollutants in our waterways. High levels of phosphates can kill life in our river systems and of course that same river water then flows out into our oceans.

Cancers induced by chemicals generally take many years to establish and they can be discovered many years after the chronic, low-level exposure has stopped. A good example of the time lapse being a baby that has crawled and played on floors that were cleaned with toxic chemicals. Medical issues can evolve years down the track. Just think about the end results of smoking tobacco or working in the asbestos industry. Many medical problems don't surface for a very long time.
