Making your teeth whiter
We would all like to have gleaming white teeth, especially when we are photographed. Smoking, plus drinking tea, coffee and red wine can stain teeth.
Can we achieve teeth whitening at home without spending big dollars? There are a few things you can try:
The ever faithful Bi-Carb - Dip a wet toothbrush in Bi-Carb soda (also called baking soda) and then brush your teeth thoroughly. Clean afterwards as you usually would with toothpaste. This should only be done twice a week as your teeth may become sensitive if done more often.
Banana skins - The inside of a ripe banana skin is said to do the trick. Rub around your teeth for two minutes and then clean your teeth as per normal.
Strawberries - Strawberries have malic acid in them and it will help clean your teeth It may be easier to mash a couple and then place the mash in your mouth. Thoroughly brush your teeth afterwards to remove any sugars in the mouth.
DON'T USE: Lemon juice, lime juice and bleach can affect the enamel on your teeth. Saline solutions can affect your gums too apparently, so don't use that.
