Hair care tips and hints
Flat beer is a good conditioner for your hair.
Add extra shine to your hair by setting the blow
dryer on cool for the final minutes.
To fade dye colour in your hair tip a bottle of
Diet Coke over your head. It will fade the
colour considerably.
To remove the green colour from your hair after
visiting the swimming pool you can mix together
bi-carbonate of soda (baking soda) and water
until you have a tick paste. Massage through
hair. Leave in for about 10 minutes then
rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and condition
after as usual.
You can add a small amount of bi carbonate of
soda (baking soda) to shampoo to rid extra dirt
and to leave your hair shinier.
If your hair is fluffy and fly-away pray it with
water into which some sugar has been dissolved.
To highlight brown hair rinse your hair with
apple cider vinegar. A couple of
tablespoons should do.
To highlight blonde hair rinse your hair with
lemon juice. A couple of tablespoons
should do.
Use cooler water when rinsing hair to keep in
its moisture. Finish your hair was with 10
seconds of cold water if you can.
When using a hair
drier keep it about 20 cms (8") away from your
head to avoid damaging your hair.
Oily hair is not caused by an oily scalp.
It is in fact caused by a dry scalp. a dry
scalp causes more oil to be secreted by the
scalp and this oil transfers itself to the hair.
Wash oily hair daily but try to wash the hair
rather than the scalp.
Don't brush or comb oily hair frequently as this
causes more oil to be secreted by the scalp.
Evening primrose oil and flax seed oil are great
for keeping your hair healthy.
When using hair conditioner try to keep it away
from the roots of the hair. You will then
get longer life out of each wash.
Stop smoking. Smokers are four times more
likely to have grey hair than non smokers and
smoking has been linked to accelerated hair
loss.
